European high-speed rail update

France's newest high-speed rail route, TGV Est, launches in June. The new route will cut travel times in half from Paris to eastern France, Luxembourg, Germany and Switzerland. In November this year, Eurostar, the high-speed train linking London to Paris and Brussels, will get an additional speed boost with the completion of high-speed tracks on the British side. The London to Paris journey (about 235 miles) takes two hours and 15 minutes; London to Brussels takes just under two hours.
