New submarine ride for Disneyland
Disneyland's new attraction for summer 2007 is the "Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage." The ride will use the eight submarines from Tomorrowland's original "Submarine Voyage" attraction, with a new theme based on the movie Finding Nemo.
With the help of projection technology, guests will encounter computer-animated characters from the movie swimming right alongside their submarine, including Dory (a blue tang fish), Marlin (a clown fish), Crush (a turtle), Bruce (a great white shark) and others. The subs' vintage "sonar hydrophones" will allow guests to eavesdrop as the characters talk with the same personalities and humor established in the film. There will be several moments when guests aboard the submarines will be able to see Nemo the clown fish, while the other characters won't.
Guests visit a variety of undersea environments, including a sub-shaking volcanic eruption, before ending the trip alongside a coral reef where the animated characters gather to celebrate the return of Nemo.
