Colorado students shine

Eric Hess and Christopher Wu of Colorado Springs proved they are two of America's savviest future auto techs, finishing third in the national 2007 Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills challenge. Both students attend Doherty High School, where their instructor is Brad Wheaton.

The annual competition encourages high school students to pursue automotive careers, offering more than $6 million in prizes and scholarships at state and national levels. First place went to Austin Castro and Daniel Lehmkuhl of San Luis Obispo High School in California.
