Girlfriend getaways

A survey conducted by AAA and Aspire shows that "girlfriend getaways" have become an important part of the lives of American women. The report found that 24% of American women have taken a women-only vacation in the past three years, and 56% would like to do so in the future.

While the most popular activities included dining out, shopping, spa treatments and going to the beach or pool, women who participated in the study were very clear that these were incidental to the primary purpose of the getaway, which was spending time bonding with their female friends. The women talked about how important these trips are for them, saying they feel more self-confident, adventurous and relaxed as a result.
