Colorado's new Diamonds

Colorado Springs restaurant The Penrose Room has become the first in the state to achieve the restaurant industry's top distinction: the AAA Five Diamond Award. Only 60 restaurants across the USA, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean currently hold this rating.

Three Colorado hotels earned the Five Diamond rating for 2008-The Broadmoor (Colorado Springs), The Little Nell (Aspen) and The Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch (Beaver Creek). Nationally, only 100 hotels achieved Five Diamond status.

This year, 31 hotels and 20 restaurants in Colorado received the Four Diamond Award. New to the Four Diamond list are the Antlers Hilton (Colorado Springs), Cheyenne Mountain Resort (Colorado Springs) and Hotel Jerome (Aspen).
