Local dog on 2008 PetBook

TRAVEL- A Colorado canine has been selected as one of two "cover models" in a nationwide photo contest. Dory, a Shih Tzu from Grand Junction, was awarded second place and his photo will appear on the spine of the 10th edition of Traveling With Your Pet: The AAA PetBook.

Dory's owners, Daniel and LaDonna Ishida, will receive $100 in AAA Visa Gift cards and two copies of the AAA PetBook. The photo shows Dory sitting on a kayak.

The new edition will be published in May. The PetBook lists more than 13,000 pet-friendly AAA Approved hotels and campgrounds, along with Diamond ratings, fees, permitted pet sizes and other conditions of stay. Listings cover all levels of accommodations, including pet-friendly Five Diamond-rated hotels. Colorado has nearly 400 pet-friendly AAA Approved accommodations.

The book will be available at many AAA offices, online at www.AAA.com/barnesandnoble and in bookstores.
