Pet photo contest
TRAVEL—If you have a pet who travels with you, be sure to take along your camera the next time you vacation and get a shot for the annual AAA PetBook photo contest.
The winner will appear on the cover of the 11th edition of Traveling With Your Pet: The AAA PetBook, and receive a $350 AAA Visa gift card and five complimentary copies of the book. The second place entry will appear on the book's spine, and receive a $200 AAA Visa gift card and two complimentary copies of the book. Deadline for entries is Nov. 30, 2008.
The judges will choose the winning picture based on the following qualities: impact, lighting, composition and effectively conveying the idea of traveling on vacation with a pet. Posed or studio photographs are not accepted.
Last year's winner was Libby, a goldendoodle from Oshawa, Ontario, pictured in front of Peggy's Cove lighthouse in Nova Scotia. Her owner, Donna Allman, said, "We bring Libby along on vacation because she is a part of the family. She loves the car and we prefer road trips so she can come along." Second place last year went to a Colorado local—Dory, a Shih Tzu from Grand Junction.
