You never know when your AAA membership card might come in handy. Here are some reasons why you should always carry it.

  • Roadside Assistance. No matter what vehicle you are traveling in (yours, someone else's or even a rental), your membership card covers you for Roadside Assistance service anywhere in the U.S. or Canada.


  • Discounts. These days, who doesn't want to save money? Showing a AAA card gets you exclusive discounts at more than 150,000 merchants around the country, around the world and online. To search for discounts visit www.AAA.com/save.


  • Lower hotel rates. Many hotels offer AAA discounts with proof of membership. While traveling, you can also call the telephone number on the back of your membership card (866-AAA-SAVE) to make reservations.


  • Hertz rental car benefits. Have your membership card handy to receive exclusive member benefits and discounts when renting a car with Hertz.


  • Checking in at the airport. Did you know you can use your AAA membership card to check in at airport self-service kiosks? When asked for a credit card to bring up your reservation, just swipe your membership card instead. The magnetic strip on the back contains the necessary information to identify you.


  • TourBooks and maps. When visiting any of AAA's offices throughout the country, present your AAA card to receive complimentary TourBooks and maps.


  • Travel Store merchandise. Members receive special pricing on luggage, travel accessories, travel books and more at the AAA Travel Store, available in most AAA offices.
