Thank you for including the President's Message entitled "Getting repeat offenders off our roads" in the May/June issue of EnCompass. His message included a fabulous website, giving helpful and comprehensive information about DUIs. For those of us who have had to deal with this problem and had little information, this website is a treasure.

I really enjoyed the road trip story [May/June, page 34]. I would like to see a small map showing the route the ladies took. Is it possible to include that in a future edition?

Editor's note: Since much of Alice Ramsey's 1909 transcontinental drive was offroad, or on roads that no longer exist, it's hard to follow the exact route today. However, a good basic map is online at www.aliceramsey.org/the-route/1909.
Our family followed the southeast Colorado road trip in your most recent issue [May/June, page 28]. We had a great time.
We especially loved the restaurant recommendations (note: Black Jack's Saloon in Trinidad is only open for supper on weekends). We loved the Rosemount Museum and Coors Tavern in Pueblo and want to revisit those soon. We didn't go to the Koshare Museum, since the dancers weren't performing yet, so instead we went to Bent's Old Fort which was wonderful. We loved shopping at Grandpa & Grandma's This and That in La Veta.
My only regret is that I forgot to take pictures of the beautiful scenery while driving along the Highway of Legends. We are definitely planning to make this trip again sometime, to catch all the things we missed. Thanks for the article and trip idea!

You briefly mentioned the Comanche National Grasslands, but did not mention the Picket Wire Canyonlands within the Grasslands. These contain the largest dinosaur track site in North America.
We took our mountain bikes down into the canyon on Memorial Day, following the 5.1 mile trail to the track site. The trail through the canyon is beautiful, with the Purgatoire River snaking through it, an old Mission and cemetery site from the late 1800s, and the star of the show, 1?4 mile of dinosaur tracks along the river bed. There are over 1,300 tracks here, and we spent several hours exploring the site. To drive past the Grasslands without stopping here would be missing out on an incredible experience.
We plan on going back in the fall when they run Jeep tours with a naturalist, pointing out rock art, historical sites, and providing more information about the dinosaurs. This truly is a gem of Southeastern Colorado and should not be missed.

Editor's note: We had several emails about places that were left out of this article. While our Mini Tours don't attempt to cover everything, we hope they serve the purpose of inspiring a visit and further exploration of the surrounding region. The Jeep tour to Picket Wire Canyonlands is one of the "Easy Adventures" highlighted in this issue-see page 50.
